TUT 62
TARA ULTRA TRAIL 62
TUT 62 (61,7km / 2600 D+)
This is our signature race – 62 km with approximately 2.600 meters of elevation gain. Starting at the historic Rača Monastery, the trail takes runners through scenic and hiden parts of Tara NP toward the finish in Bajina Bašta. The challenge begins from the start. The hardest climb of the entire race greets runners right from the start: an epic ascent from the monastery, passing the Crnjeskovo viewpoint, and pushing all the way to the Kaluđerske Bare plateau – 4 km with around 700 meters of elevation gain. A fast 1.5 km descent leads to Lake Jarevac.
From the 6th kilometer and the first aid station at Račanska Šljivovica, the next 11 km of the route mostly follow forest roads, with a relatively gentle but constant climb. At kilometer 17, there is a second aid station at Miloševac, after which the highest part of the course begins. This section is mostly singletrack, with occasional short sections on asphalt and gravel.
At kilometer 18, you reach the highest peak of Tara — Zborište (1544 m). Two kilometers later is Iver (1478 m), and after another 2 km, Kršanjska Glavica (1427 m). From here, the trail descends toward the village of Lipovica (with a spring), then climbs steeply to Nikšića Presedo. After that, there is 1 km of asphalt and 1 km of gravel (2 springs) before entering the single track leading to Gavran (1453 m). After descending from this peak, there are 2 km to the life station at Seklić (soup, meal, drop bag) at kilometer 33.
In the next 14 km to the aid station at Sokolina, you will encounter the fastest and most runnable section of the course, which mostly follows a good gravel road with short stretches of asphalt. View from the spectacular Sokolarica viewpoint opens over the deep Rača Canyon – a reward worthy of the effort. A steep and rugged 4 km descent follows, dropping runners to the Lađevac waterfall, and transitioning into a smoother 2 km single-track section back toward Rača Monastery and aid station.
From here, there is a 2 km final ascent, followed by a dynamic 4 km descent on a mix of technical single-track and rough forest roads. The race concludes with a mostly flat final 2 km, pushing into the finish line in Bajina Bašta.
